These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Blueprint (the "Service"), operated by Behind The Product Consulting LLC, a Washington limited liability company, 522 W Riverside Ave, Ste N, Spokane, WA 99201, United States ("BTP", "we", "us"). "Customer" or "you" means the person or business invited to use the Service, and anyone who uses it on that business's behalf.
1. Invite-only beta
1.1 The Service is an early, invite-only beta that helps hardware founders frame a product problem, define requirements and prepare a product requirements document (PRD) that manufacturers can review and quote against. Access is by personal invitation only and may not be transferred or shared.
1.2 Features are incomplete and will change. Features may be added, changed, paused or removed at any time. Modules not yet released, including Requirements, Architecture, PRD export and Source (RFQ and supplier tools), are not part of the Service until we tell you they are available.
1.3 The Service does not guarantee that any manufacturer will quote, accept or prioritise your project, or any price, lead time or outcome.
1.4 No file uploads in the beta. Document and file upload is not yet available; you enter content by typing or pasting it. If uploads are added, they will be covered by an updated version of these Terms and the Privacy Policy, notified to you before uploads are enabled.
1.5 Where the Service is offered. The Service is offered only to businesses and individuals located in the United States and India. It is not offered in, and may not be used from, the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, and BTP does not offer GDPR or UK GDPR terms. If you relocate to an excluded region, you must stop using the Service and tell us.
2. Accounts and access
2.1 Sign-in is by an emailed magic link sent to the invited address. Keep access to that email account secure; anyone who can open it can sign in as you.
2.2 Each program has an owner and may have advisers or viewers whom the owner invites. Only the owner can change program content directly; the AI assistant and advisers can only propose changes, which the owner accepts or rejects.
2.3 You are responsible for activity under your account and for the people you invite to your program.
3. Your content and confidential designs
3.1 Customer Content means everything you or your invitees type, paste or otherwise share through the Service, including descriptions of product problems, requirements, designs, blueprints, BOMs, specifications, cost data, notes and chat messages with the AI assistant (and, once uploads are available under clause 1.4, uploaded files).
3.2 We treat Customer Content as your confidential information. We will use it only to provide, secure and support the Service for you (the "Permitted Purpose"), will not sell it, and will not disclose it except as these Terms and the Privacy Policy allow.
3.3 Relationship to the NDA. Where you and BTP have signed a non-disclosure agreement, including the Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement between BTP and Pontala SafeTech effective 18 October 2026 (the "NDA"), Customer Content is also Confidential Information under the NDA. See clause 14 (order of precedence).
3.4 Do not upload information you have no right to share, or personal health information.
3.5 No export-controlled data. You must not enter or share any technical data, technology or software that is controlled under the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) above EAR99, India's SCOMET list (Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies) under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, or any similar export-control law. The Service is not designed or authorised to receive such data. If you believe you have shared controlled data, tell us immediately and we will delete it.
4. Ownership and licences
4.1 You keep your inputs. As between you and BTP, you own all Customer Content.
4.2 You own your outputs. You own the program-specific outputs the Service generates for you from your Customer Content, such as your problem frame, Definition, readiness findings applied to your program, decisions you accept and PRD text ("Outputs"), subject to clause 4.3. Similar outputs may be generated for other customers; you get no exclusive right in generic content.
4.3 BTP keeps the tool and its methods. BTP owns the Service and all of its software, readiness rules, decision guides, methodology, interviewer prompts, templates, cost models, partner-, supplier- and manufacturer-selection tools and methods, and all improvements to them ("BTP Technology"). To the extent BTP Technology appears in an Output, BTP grants you a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use it as part of that Output for your own products. No other rights are granted.
4.4 Limited licence to BTP. You grant BTP a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for the term of your use and the retention periods in clause 8, to host, copy, process, transmit and display Customer Content, and to send it to the subprocessors in clause 6, solely for the Permitted Purpose.
4.5 Feedback. If you give us suggestions about the Service, we may use them without obligation, but feedback does not include your Customer Content or Confidential Information.
4.6 Aggregate data. BTP may use de-identified usage metrics (for example, counts of AI calls, tokens and cost, or how often a readiness rule fires) to run and improve the Service, provided they do not identify you or reveal Customer Content.
5. AI features
5.1 The Service uses third-party AI models (Anthropic's Claude models by default; Google's Gemini models only if a BTP administrator selects one for a job) to run the interviewer, to recommend among options and to review content. Outputs may be wrong, incomplete or out of date. The Service is built to show sources and to escalate to human review rather than invent values, but you must check every Output before relying on it or sending it to anyone.
5.2 No training on your data. BTP does not use Customer Content to train or fine-tune any AI model. BTP uses AI providers only through paid, commercial API tiers, and never free or consumer keys. It uses only providers whose terms prohibit training on API inputs and outputs and let BTP control retention and deletion. We will not enable any setting that permits training without your prior written consent.
5.3 BTP has not arranged zero-data-retention terms with the AI providers, so providers may retain inputs and outputs briefly for abuse and safety monitoring as their commercial terms allow, and then delete them (see the Privacy Policy).
5.4 For each AI-derived value, the Service records the prompt version, the model used, citations and the time as part of your program. Separately, an AI-call log records the model, token counts, timing and estimated cost of each call, with no prompt or response text.
6. Subprocessors
6.1 BTP uses the following service providers to run the Service: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (Postgres database and magic-link sign-in, US West region us-west-1), Anthropic (Claude AI models, default), Google (Gemini AI models, only when an administrator selects one) and Hostinger (domain DNS only; receives no Customer Content). The current list is in the Privacy Policy.
6.2 Each subprocessor is bound by confidentiality and data-protection terms. BTP is responsible for its subprocessors' handling of Customer Content as for its own.
6.3 We will give at least thirty (30) days' email notice before adding or replacing a subprocessor that will receive Customer Content, and at least fourteen (14) days' notice for any other subprocessor. If you object, you may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your data under clause 8. For a customer with an NDA, this notice also serves as notice under the NDA's clause 5.3 on advisers, to the extent it applies.
7. Security
7.1 BTP uses reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), provider encryption at rest, invite-only magic-link sign-in, server-side access checks for every program, database row-level security that blocks direct browser access, server-only API keys and logging of AI-call metadata. Only members of a program can view it in the Service; BTP administrators cannot open a program they are not a member of. The server itself can technically read all data, and access to the systems behind it is limited to BTP personnel who need it.
7.2 No system is perfectly secure. We will tell you without undue delay, and in any event within 72 hours, after confirming a breach affecting your Customer Content.
7.3 Test and preview versions of the Service cannot run against the production database; they must use a separate database.
8. Retention, return and deletion
8.1 We keep Customer Content while your account is active.
8.2 You can close your account yourself in the Service at any time. You may also ask us at any time, by email to hello@gobehindtheproduct.com, to export or delete your programs, and BTP will do so within fourteen (14) days of your request and confirm in writing. Deleting a program also deletes its assistant conversations, proposals and memberships. The AI-call log keeps only metadata (model, tokens, timing, cost) with no Customer Content.
8.3 Copies in routine automatic backups held by our database provider are kept for a limited period and overwritten in the ordinary course, and are not restored except to recover the Service. Retained copies remain confidential.
8.4 When you close your account. When you close your account, you may choose (a) "delete now", in which case your Customer Content is deleted from the live Service immediately, or (b) to have it kept, in which case it is deleted within one (1) year after the account closes. If you make no choice, option (b) applies. Copies in backups are handled under clause 8.3. "Delete now" does not remove messages you wrote in programs owned by someone else; those messages stay in that program, linked to your user ID. BTP keeps a minimal record of each closed account (email, closure date and purge date) to administer deletion and prevent re-registration abuse.
8.5 NDA customers. Where an NDA applies, its return-and-destruction terms override this clause 8 (see clause 14). For Pontala SafeTech, this means Customer Content is destroyed within fourteen (14) days of a written request at any time, and in any event within fourteen (14) days after the NDA's confidentiality period for that item ends (two (2) years after disclosure), even if that is earlier than the one-year default.
8.6 Conversations with the AI assistant are stored as an append-only record within each program and are deleted with it.
9. Acceptable use
You will not: misuse or attempt to break the Service's security; access other customers' programs; reverse engineer the Service or extract BTP Technology, prompts or methodology; use the Service to build a competing product; upload malware or unlawful content; or share your invitation.
10. Beta disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS A BETA, PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Should-cost figures are modelled estimates, not quotes. Outputs are not engineering, legal, regulatory, certification or safety advice, and you remain responsible for the design, safety and certification of your product.
11. Limitation of liability
11.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue or data.
11.2 BTP's total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim and (b) US$100. The beta is free.
11.3 Exclusions. Clauses 11.1 and 11.2 do not limit liability for a party's unauthorised use or disclosure of the other party's confidential information, which is governed by the NDA where one exists, or for fraud or any liability that cannot be limited by law. Liability for breach of confidentiality is uncapped, consistent with NDA clause 10.2.
12. Fees
The beta is free of charge. We will give at least 30 days' notice before charging any fee, and you will not be charged unless you agree in writing.
13. Term, suspension and termination
13.1 These Terms apply from your first sign-in until ended. You may stop at any time. Either party may end these Terms on written notice (email suffices); BTP may end the beta on fourteen (14) days' notice.
13.2 BTP may suspend access immediately to protect the Service or other users, or if you materially breach these Terms.
13.3 On termination, your licence to use the Service ends and clause 8 applies to your data. Clauses 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15 and 16 survive.
14. Order of precedence
If these Terms or the Privacy Policy conflict with a signed NDA between you and BTP, the NDA controls on confidentiality, use, disclosure, return and destruction of Confidential Information, on liability for their breach, and on governing law and dispute resolution. Otherwise, these Terms control on use of the Service. A signed services agreement controls over both on deliverables and paid work.
15. Governing law and disputes
15.1 Signed agreements control. If you have a signed NDA or other agreement with BTP, its governing-law and dispute terms apply to disputes under these Terms instead of this clause 15.
15.2 US users. If you are based in the United States, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts in King County, Washington, have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to clause 15.5.
15.3 India-based users. If you are based in India, these Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties will first try to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation between principals for thirty (30) days after written notice. Unresolved disputes are finally resolved by binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (India), by a sole arbitrator appointed by agreement or, failing agreement within 30 days, as provided under that Act. The seat and venue is Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India; the language is English; all hearings are by video conference; this arbitration agreement is governed by Indian law. Each party bears its own costs, and the arbitrator's fees are shared equally.
15.4 Pontala SafeTech. For Pontala SafeTech, clause 15.3 applies and matches NDA clause 11.
15.5 Interim relief. Either party may seek urgent interim or injunctive relief from any competent court to protect confidential information or BTP Technology.
16. General
16.1 Changes. We may update these Terms with at least 14 days' email notice; material changes adverse to you during the beta require your agreement.
16.2 Notices. BTP: Behind The Product Consulting LLC, contact@gobehindtheproduct.com (privacy requests: hello@gobehindtheproduct.com). You: the email address used for your invitation, or the notice address in your signed NDA or agreement.
16.3 Export compliance. Each party complies with the export-control and sanctions laws that apply to it.
16.4 Assignment, severability, waiver, entire agreement. As in NDA clause 12, applied to these Terms. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any NDA or services agreement are the entire agreement on the Service.
